About Tennis Count

Making it easier to find and play on courts near you.

Our Story

Tennis Count was born out of a real problem. One of our team members at TGS Enterprise is a lifelong tennis fanatic — the kind of person who always has a racket in the car, just in case. But time and again, the same frustration came up: needing to play on short notice and having no reliable way to find an available court nearby. The options were always the same — scrolling through outdated directories, calling parks departments that didn't pick up, or driving to a court only to find it locked, under construction, or packed.

The idea was simple: there should be one place where you can see every tennis court in your area, right now, with real information. No guessing, no phone tag, no wasted trips. That frustration became the spark for Tennis Count.

Launched in 2025 by TGS Enterprise, Tennis Count is a free court discovery platform that brings together real-time court data from Google Maps with local insights to help tennis and pickleball players find the right place to play — fast. What started as a solution to one player's problem has grown into a tool used by players across over 100 cities nationwide.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make racket sports more accessible to everyone. Tennis and pickleball are two of the fastest-growing sports in the United States, yet finding a court remains one of the biggest barriers to entry for new players. According to the USTA, over 23 million Americans played tennis in 2023 — and the number continues to climb. Pickleball participation has more than doubled since 2020, with the Sport & Fitness Industry Association reporting over 48 million players nationwide.

Despite this growth, there's no single, reliable place to find courts. Municipal parks often aren't listed online. Private clubs bury court availability behind phone calls. And generic map searches return results that mix tennis courts with sporting goods stores, coaching services, and unrelated businesses. Tennis Count cuts through the noise and shows you actual courts — public parks, private clubs, recreation centers, and community facilities — with the information you need to plan your visit.

What We Do

Tennis Count is a free court discovery tool designed for players, not advertisers. Enter your city, state, or zip code and instantly see nearby tennis and pickleball courts complete with photos, ratings, hours of operation, and directions. Our interactive map view makes it simple to compare locations and find the most convenient option for your schedule.

Every search pulls real-time data from Google Maps Platform, so the information you see — addresses, phone numbers, opening hours, user reviews — is always current. No stale listings, no outdated phone numbers, no guessing whether a facility is still open.

Beyond search, we publish city guides for over 100 cities across the United States and internationally, spotlighting the best courts and facilities in each area. Our blog covers everything from court surface comparisons to etiquette tips, helping players of all levels make the most of their time on the court.

What Makes Us Different

  • Tennis and pickleball focused. Unlike general map searches that mix in irrelevant results, every listing on Tennis Count is an actual court or facility. We filter out sporting goods stores, coaching services, and other non-court results so you only see places where you can play.
  • Always up to date. Court data is pulled directly from Google Maps in real time. If a facility updates its hours, adds new photos, or receives a new review, you'll see it immediately — no manual data entry or stale databases.
  • Completely free. No account required, no paywalls, no premium tiers. Search for courts, browse city guides, and read our blog — all without signing up or paying a cent.
  • Built for every skill level. Whether you're picking up a racket for the first time or training for a USTA league, Tennis Count helps you find courts that match your needs — from public parks with open play to private clubs with reservation systems.

Our Values

Accessibility First

Everyone deserves access to a place to play. We prioritize public courts and free facilities alongside private clubs, and we'll always offer a free tier of our service. Playing tennis or pickleball shouldn't require a country club membership — sometimes all you need is a park and a partner.

Accuracy Over Everything

There's nothing more frustrating than showing up to a court that doesn't exist or is permanently closed. We rely on real-time data sources rather than static databases, and we're constantly working to improve the quality and relevance of our search results.

Community Driven

Tennis Count is built for the community. We listen to player feedback to decide what to build next, and we're working toward features that let players share court conditions, leave tips for other visitors, and connect with local playing partners.

Looking Ahead

Tennis Count is just getting started. We're actively developing new features to make the platform even more useful for players, including detailed court pages with booking information, map-driven search that updates results as you pan and zoom, and community features that let players rate court conditions and share tips.

We're also expanding our city guide coverage, adding more in-depth blog content for players of all levels, and exploring partnerships with local tennis organizations and parks departments to improve the data we surface.
