Pickleball arrived in Shanghai in April 2023, when the city's first dedicated court opened in Huangpu District. Two years later the scene has scaled fast. More than twenty venues now run sessions across the city, most of them indoor halls inside malls and multi-sport complexes such as The River Mall and the AURORA Hongqiao Ctrip Sports Complex in Changning. Expat-led clubs like InLove Sports share the calendar with local operators, and Shanghai hosted the JOOLA Pickleball Legends Tour finale in March 2025. Court time typically runs around 100 yuan an hour.
