Pickleball Courts in Louisville, KY

Pickleball arrived in Louisville with state money and never slowed down. E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park converted six tennis courts into sixteen pickleball courts in 2021, and Charlie Vettiner Park followed with fourteen dedicated outdoor courts that anchor Derby City Pickleball Club's leagues. Riverview Park added four lighted courts in September 2024, the same month a Humana Foundation grant opened twelve indoor courts at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in west Louisville. Demand is loud enough that a proposed $65 million complex at Joe Creason Park was scrapped after neighborhood pushback in May 2025.
